Welcome to Cooncraft Maine Coons

Nestled in the hills of West Virginia, we are located near Charleston, in the Kanawha Valley.  Cooncraft is a small hobby cattery registered with The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association (TICA).  We show our cats in both registries.  

The cats in our breeding program are genetically screened through Wisdom Panel for 50 genetic and health conditions, including Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PK Def), and one mutation (MYBPC-A31P) associated with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) specifically in Maine Coons.  Our cats also visit a board-certified veterinary cardiologist for an echocardiogram prior to breeding, and every 12-18 months thereafter.
