Welcome to Cooncraft Maine Coons

Nestled in the hills of West Virginia, we are located near Charleston, in the Kanawha Valley.  Cooncraft is a small cattery registered with The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association (TICA) and we show our cats in both registries.  

The cats in our breeding program are genetically screened through the Veterinary Genetics Lab at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis for the genetic mutation (MYBPC-A31P) associated with Maine Coon Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), as well as Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD).  Additionally, our cats receive an echocardiogram by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist prior to breeding, and every 12-18 months thereafter.
